Gift Guide for Theatre Fans

Do you have a theatre fan in your family or friend group and have no idea what to get them this Christmas?  Whether you're on a budget or want to splurge a little, this gift guide is perfect for any theatre fan!

 1. Show Tickets / Vouchers

Of course number one on this list has to be theatre tickets themselves. If the person you're buying for has a certain show they're dying to see, whether it be West End or regional, why not treat them to a night out at the theatre. I know some people are holding off from buying tickets at the moment due to the uncertainty of when most shows will reopen, however theatres all across the UK have a fantastic refund / exchange scheme that means if the performance you book for does unfortunately have to be cancelled or rescheduled you are guaranteed a refund or voucher to use in the future. Show such as Six and Everybody's Talking About Jamie have already reopened and some shows are offering e-vouchers due to their return date being up in the air. You can buy e-vouchers for Show such as Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella, Back To The Future, Anything Goes, Jersey Boys and more. See the full list here: https://www.whatsonstage.com/search?term=gift%20e-voucher&results=shows

2. Theatre Tokens

Theatre tokens are a great gift for any theatre fan and can be used whenever. There's no expiry date on them and they can be used at more than 260 theatres across the UK. You can purchase a physical gift card or an eGift for yourself or family and friends and you'll have something to look forward to when the theatres reopen!

3. Theatre Memberships

Many theatres have memberships / loyalty schemes available on their websites that you can buy and this is a great way to inject funds in to the industry. By purchasing you could enjoy some great perks such as fee-free booking, priority booking, and more depending on the theatre. Memberships can also save you some money in the long runBelow are links to just some memberships you can buy but be sure to check your local theatres too!

If the person you're buying for is also a book lover there are so many books about / based around theatre to read. A lot of shows such as Wicked, Blood Brothers and Dear Evan Hansen have a book available and you could even purchase a vocal / piano selection book or an actors guide for any performers out there.

Some of my favourite theatre inspired books include Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild, The Unforgetting by Rose Black, When The Curtain Falls by Carrie Hope Fletcher and A Dancer's Dream by Katherine Woodfine.

Finally, Danny Kaan and Sophie Ross For 'The Digi Creative' present 'Dear Audience' which is a theatrical coffee table book filled with over 140 pages showcasing the arts industry. With exclusive imagery, personalised letters to audiences and more, this book is the perfect gift for any theatre fan, especially after this year! https://dearaudiencebook.com/
