Get To Know Me!

In light of my blog relaunch, I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to share a bit more about myself, especially since I’ve expanded my content. I’ve seen these types of posts on both blogs and YouTube and piled a bunch of questions together to answer!

1. How old are you?

I am 17 years old.

2. Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Manchester.

3. What is your middle name?

My middle name is Katherine.

4. What was your favourite subject in school?

In secondary school my favourite subject was probably drama or music as I’ve always been more into performing than academics. I did however enjoy English Literature even though I was never the best at it.

5. What is your favourite drink?

I always laugh whenever somebody asks me this as the answer is simply water. It’s all I drink. I’ve never liked tea or coffee, or any sort of juice or fizzy drinks. You’ll only ever see me drinking water. I just don’t like drinks with flavour…basically.

6. What is your favourite song at the moment?

I have quite a few. I only really listen to musicals so at the moment I love ‘A Cautionary Tale’ from Mean Girls, ‘Wait A Bit’ from Just So, and ‘All I’ve Ever Known’ from Hadestown!

7. What is your favourite food?

Similar to my taste in drinks, I don’t really like much food either. You’ll never see me eating pizza, chips, crisps, ice cream, or anything that everyone seems to like. My favourite food is probably chicken, but it must be plain. I hate anything spicy! My Nando’s order is simply plain butterfly chicken, with a side of mash. I’m that person that has to ask the waiter to adjust most of the meal otherwise I just can’t eat it. If you suggest any food, 90% of the time I won’t like it!

8. What is the last thing you bought?

Well usually my money all goes on theatre tickets, but whilst we’ve been in lockdown, I’ve been doing way too much online shopping! The last thing I ordered was a bunch of clothes from Nasty Gal and some black boots which I am in love with!

9. Favourite book of all time?

I’m not going to lie I’m not a very big reader at all, but I do love to have a nosy in Waterstones from time to time. My favourite book is probably ‘When The Curtains Falls’ by Carrie Hope Fletcher as it centres around theatre and I ended up reading it 4 times within the space of about 2 weeks! I also love ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ by Robert Louis Stevenson. I studied this book for my English Literature GCSE and really enjoyed it. I love gothic fiction!

10. Favourite Colour?

I like purple and khaki. I’m also a huge fan of burgundy.

11. Do you have any pets?

Nope. To be perfectly honest animals scare me! My neighbours have a cat which comes into our garden occasionally and it frightens the life out of me half the time as it blends into our fence. I’m also that person that’ll see a dog when I’m out and instantly thing I’m going to get attacked. I do however have friends that have really sweet pets and my Grandad used to have a dog that was extremely calm and chill 24/7. Regardless, I couldn’t have a pet anyways as my mum is allergic to most animal hair!

12. Favourite perfume?

My favourite perfume is ‘Eau Nude’ from Next! My mum got me a bottle for Christmas, and I love it! It’s also very cheap which is a huge bonus.

13. Favourite holiday?

It’s probably cliché but Christmas! I love winter as I’m a big fan of boots and big coats. My birthday is in summer and I really don’t like the heat, so Christmas is definitely my favourite.

14. Are you married?

Definitely not…I’m 17!

15. Have you ever been out of the country, if so, how many times?

I have! I’ve actually never been on a plane though. My first trip abroad was in 2018 on a school trip to Paris by coach and ferry, and my second time was on a cruise to Norway! I was meant to be in Spain and Portugal this summer on another cruise to celebrate the end of A Levels / my birthday, but obviously that’s not getting ahead. I’m hoping we can reschedule!

16. Do you speak any other language?

I mean…I took French GCSE but that definitely doesn’t count as I can’t really remember anything. The course didn’t exactly teach us useful parts of the language. So no, I do not.

17. How many siblings do you have?

I am an only child.

18. What is favourite shop?

If we’re talking online I love Boohoo and Pretty Little Thing, but an actually shop I love H&M, and you can’t go wrong with Primark!

19. Favourite restaurant?

The Chinese Buffet!

20. When was the last time you cried?

About three days ago watching The Parent Trap.

21. Favourite Musical?

I could go on for ages about so many musicals that I adore but to keep it short my favourites at the minute are Back To The Future and The Last Five Years.

22. Favourite Movie?

I have quite a few. I’m a big Disney lover and some of my favourites have to be The Little Mermaid collection, Aladdin, Mary Poppins and The Parent Trap. Mamma Mia 2 is also high up on my list, I must have seen it about 5 or 6 times in the cinema! My all-time favourite film however has to be Back to The Future. I first saw it when I was about 8 as it’s also my mums favourite film and by now, I must have seen it hundreds of times! You can imagine my reaction when they announced it had been adapted into a musical and was going to have its world premiere in my hometown…

23. Favourite TV shows?

At the moment Disney Plus has pretty much taken over my life allowing me to revisit my childhood. Wizards of Waverly Place and Good Luck Charlie are classics for my age group! My favourite TV show of all time however would have to be Glee. A show about a show choir is of course going to have spectacular songs. From Broadway anthems, to pop music to all time classics, there was no genre the show didn’t cover. The casting was also perfect. There were such diverse personalities meaning every viewer had someone they could relate to. A terrific show!

24.  How tall are you?

I’m 5”3, quite short!

25. Can you cook?

If you count putting pasta in the pan and turning the hob on, then yes. If not, then no. Like I said earlier I don’t particular like many foods, so there wouldn’t be much for me to cook anyways, but the last time I actually used an oven myself was probably year 9 food tech, and that gave me two burnt wrists, so I haven’t really gone near a hot oven since…

I hope this has allowed you to get to know me better. Thanks for reading!
